Job Title: Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN)
Location: Espa ola, New Mexico
Shift: 12-hour shifts | 36 hours/week | 13-week contract
Start Date: 03/16/2026

Job Summary:
The Emergency Department RN provides high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced, high-acuity emergency setting. The nurse utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care while ensuring safety, efficiency, and clinical excellence. The role requires flexibility, teamwork, and the ability to float between departments and nearby locations within a 20-mile radius.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, documentation)

  • Deliver safe, timely, and evidence-based emergency nursing care

  • Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and protocols

  • Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond to emergency situations

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams

  • Educate patients and families on care plans and discharge instructions

  • Supervise LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel

  • Follow unit protocols, standards of care, and safety guidelines

  • Participate in required education, competencies, and training

  • Float between departments/locations as required

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of current large ED experience

  • Must have completed at least one 13-week travel assignment

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment

  • Must successfully pass BCA (Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia) test

  • ADN or ASN required

  • Active New Mexico RN license or Compact License

  • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS

  • Epic experience preferred (training available)
