Overview

We’re looking for a floor-present, operations-savvy EHS Engineer to lead the charge on safety, compliance, and environmental performance across a high-mix truck body manufacturing facility. You’ll serve as the right hand to the Plant Manager when it comes to ensuring OSHA and EPA standards are met, especially in high-risk areas like painting and decaling, while also shaping the long-term culture of safety and accountability on the floor.

This is a hands-on role embedded in daily operations. You’ll walk the floor, lead training for new hires, conduct root cause investigations, and collaborate closely with production leaders to solve real-world safety challenges. A background in manufacturing operations or continuous improvement is a strong asset, you’ll be more effective if you understand the daily pressures and tradeoffs of production, and know how to influence change within that context.

You’ll play a critical role in maintaining air permitting compliance, managing hazardous materials, improving ergonomics on the line, and building proactive EHS systems. If you’re someone who thrives in fast-paced, complex environments and wants to make a lasting impact on safety, compliance, and culture, this is a rare opportunity to take ownership and grow.

  • Incident Investigation: Respond to and investigate EHS incidents; conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Ergonomic Improvements: Identify and address ergonomic risks in high-repetition areas like assembly and material handling; partner with engineering to drive lasting improvements.
