Job Title: Electric Power Engineer Location: North Salt Lake, UT Employment Type: Full-Time Salary Range: As per Exp Responsibilities:

The Senior Electric Power Engineer will perform the following duties:

  • Investigate and evaluate incidents or accidents involving electrical contact (e.g., overhead lines, substations, switchgear).
  • Investigate and assess causes of electrical equipment failures (e.g., motors, transformers).
  • Collect and analyze data related to incidents and failures.
  • Review and analyze relevant documents.
  • Inspect and document scenes, equipment, and other evidence.
  • Prepare and/or edit detailed reports.
  • Develop engineering details to support litigation and provide expert witness testimony as experience progresses.
Qualifications: Education:
  • Bachelor's degree (minimum) in Electrical Engineering from an accredited program.
  • Graduate degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred.
Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience in one or more of the following:
    • Electric power utility.
    • Consulting and/or design firm supporting electric power utilities.
    • Manufacturer of electric power equipment.
  • Experience in Forensic Engineering and Failure Analysis is desirable but not required.
Skills:
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently or in a team.
  • Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and technical reporting.
Certifications:
  • Professional Engineering (PE) registration is required.
Other Requirements:
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or have credentials to legally work in the United States.
