Our client is a leading building materials manufacturer. They are looking for a dedicated Electrical Project Engineer to join their team in Winter Haven, FL. Responsibilities:
- Oversee the development and implementation of projects focused on process improvements, facility upgrades, and safety enhancements.
- Manage CAPEX project budgets, ensuring projects are completed within financial guidelines.
- Collaborate closely with various business units to develop project deliverables, detailed specifications, and scope of work documents.
- Foster a team-based decision-making environment to ensure project success.
- Communicate transparently with the Corporate Engineering Manager regarding budget discrepancies and project progress.
- Issue monthly summaries of active and pending projects, including updated completion and cost estimates.
- Suggest improvements to plant operations to enhance quality, safety, and employee work environment.
- Coordinate and direct projects, including planning, installation, testing, operation, maintenance, and repair of facilities and equipment.
- Prepare budgets, bids, and contracts; review and approve contracts and cost estimates.
- Present proposals, reports, and findings to clients; negotiate project specifications with customers.
- Promote adherence to quality systems, ethical standards, and health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Perform other duties as required and manage multiple assignments or projects simultaneously.
- Lead and manage projects with a clear understanding of timelines and critical paths.
- Experience in leading Capital Projects, with a focus on electrical systems.
- 3+ years of proven project management experience in a manufacturing setting, with a track record of success in safety, quality, cost, and delivery.
- Technical experience in industrial controls, VFDs & servo drives, high/medium/low voltage electrical systems, and mechanical aptitude.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products; AutoCAD (2014 or later) is preferred but not required. Knowledge of servers, virtual machines, remote desktop, SQL programming, and access database management is a plus. Familiarity with HMI software such as In-Touch, Historian Client, and MES. PLC programming in S7 and TIA Portal is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering is strongly preferred.
- Expertise in programming and advanced troubleshooting of PLCs, SCADA development, support, and implementation, networking/data communications, and related software.
