Shift - 12 hour days 3 days one week and 4 the next. Weekend work required every other weekend.
Overview
The Electrical Controls Technician will support the plant’s automation and controls infrastructure, with a focus on PLC troubleshooting, electrical systems, and machine control operations. This individual will serve as the primary expert for Allen Bradley and Siemens PLC systems, supporting machine installations, troubleshooting, and electrical control system reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair PLC-controlled manufacturing equipment
- Support Allen Bradley and Siemens control systems
- Diagnose and repair electrical control systems, drives, and high voltage equipment
- Read and interpret PLC and electrical schematics
- Support machine installations and electrical integrations
- Install and maintain transformers and electrical components (480V → 240V conversions)
- Troubleshoot machine automation and control issues
- Work cross-functionally with mechanical maintenance technicians
- Provide support for machine upgrades and system improvements
Required Skills
- Strong experience with PLC troubleshooting
- Experience with Allen Bradley and/or Siemens controls
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and PLC schematics
- Experience with industrial drives and automation systems
- Knowledge of high voltage electrical systems
- Experience supporting manufacturing or extrusion equipment
Preferred
- Experience in extrusion or plastics manufacturing
- Electrical certifications or technical training
- Experience with industrial machine installations
