Summary: Expert technical resource for electrical discipline. Performs complete project design tasks for complex projects without supervision. Manages the entire project team. Possesses working knowledge of other engineering disciplines, good writing and communication skills, and knowledge of local agency standards and specifications.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Performs engineering studies and writes reports documenting findings and recommendations.
2. Provides high level design direction to junior project design staff and review junior staff work for completeness and accuracy.
3. Edits project specifications.
4. Reads codes and standards to ensure code compliant designs.
5. Manages project team to ensure deadlines are met.
6. Monitors project budget throughout design.
7. Coordinates with vendors and agencies to complete the design.
8. Conducts site visits to confirm existing conditions and perform job site observations.
9. Reviews and responds to RFIs and submittals.
10. Reviews/monitors designs progress of junior project staff and advises/guides them to ensure designs are finished completely, accurately, and on schedule.
11. Communicates with others.
12. Uses Revit, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and other software.
13. Continues education through seminars, classes, and additional readings.
14. Performs quality control reviews of projects designed by others.
15. Manages electrical design staff including, but not limited to, assigning technical staff to projects, managing department workload, and ensuring overall accountability of all department staff.
16. Provides technical expertise to other staff members.
17. Assists project teams in resolving electrical-related field issues.
18. Develops and maintain master standards, details, and specifications.
19. Develops technical design guides.
20. Demonstrates reliable accountability in performing duties completely, accurately, and on schedule.
21. Completes assigned work proactively without requiring reminders.

Education/Experience:

Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in electrical engineering or related field, professional engineering license, and 12+ years experience; or no engineering degree and 15+ related experience and/or training.

This position requires someone with the ability to lead and design hospital projects, with strong hospital sector experience.
