Position: Electronics Product Design EngineerLocation: Foxboro, MAJob DescriptionWe are seeking a Electronics Product Design Engineering - Specialist Professional who is highly motivated, creative and innovative and has a strong passion for formal hardware development. The candidate will be responsible for new HW design, HW development, and sustaining of our EcoStruxure™ Foxboro DCS - Distributed Control System products, in a multi-site, cross-platform development environment. This includes providing solutions to technical issues, ensuring the delivered solutions meet the technical specifications and design requirements, and being responsible for meeting development schedule and cost commitments. In addition, the candidate may also provide technical support to development work performed by third-party service providers or outsource partners.The responsibilities will include but not be limited to:Understanding the hardware architecture of the productsPerforming work in all phase’s hardware product development life-cycle – requirements, architecture, design, implementation and verificationProviding support to HW development work performed by outsource partnersComing up with innovative ideas to improve HW products and the HW development processWorking in a diverse team environment, as well as independently QualificationsB.S. in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent.Minimum 15-20 years of HW design experience in the following areas: industrial controls, aerospace, communications, or medical devices, etc.Experienced in the design of embedded analog/digital modules, sub-systems, and systems using embedded microprocessors (ARM, PowerPC, etc.) and FPGA's.Experienced in PCB design, signal integrity analysis, and layout rules/guidelines.Excellent diagnostic, debug, and troubleshooting skills, using standard lab/bench equipment.Experienced in product development with knowledge of Design for Test, Design for Manufacturability, environmental, EMI/EMC, and qualification testing for new products.Experienced in formal HW development process.Experienced with working with offshoring partners, outsource partners, or other third-party partners.Good verbal and written communication skills, which includes ability in writing technical documents.Self-starter, team player, multi-tasking with good time management skills and the ability to function across organizational boundaries.Nice To Have:Experienced in design of high reliability, redundant fail-safe products are a strong plus.Experienced with development using lean agile methodology.
