Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to support the design and development of AC and DC power distribution systems with a strong focus on Data Centers, Power Modules, and IT infrastructure environments. This role involves designing electrical systems to meet customer specifications and supporting electrical engineering activities from pre-sales through commissioning. The engineer will collaborate cross-functionally to develop comprehensive electrical design packages and ensure successful integration of power systems within modular and facility-based environments.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the lead Electrical Engineer on assigned projects from pre-sales through final commissioning.
  • Design AC and DC power distribution systems including UPS systems, standby generators, grounding, lighting, and switchgear.
  • Develop single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and detailed electrical integration drawings.
  • Design low-voltage and medium-voltage distribution systems for data centers and critical facilities.
  • Design switchgear configurations and control schemes utilizing PLCs and/or relay-based systems.
  • Develop ground fault protection schemes, including multi-source systems.
  • Perform power systems studies, calculations, and load analysis.
  • Size standby emergency generators based on load types (motor loads, UPS systems, lighting, etc.).
  • Generate bills of materials and modify standard assemblies as required.
  • Coordinate electrical designs with architectural and mechanical disciplines.
  • Collaborate with contractors, architects, integration partners, and vendors to produce construction-ready documentation.
  • Review and approve electrical submittals and equipment specifications.
  • Support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), and commissioning activities.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local electrical codes and regulations.
  • Provide on-site engineering support, audits, and start-up assistance as needed.
  • Identify innovative, cost-effective design solutions without compromising quality or reliability.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 4 years of Electrical Engineering experience.
  • Strong knowledge of low voltage switchboard and switchgear design and applications.
  • Working knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal electrical codes, including the National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical construction drawings and specifications.
  • Strong understanding of customer specification interpretation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Data Center, Telecommunications, or critical infrastructure environments.
  • Familiarity with Modbus, TCP/IP protocols, RS-485, and Ethernet interfaces.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license is a plus.
  • Experience with commissioning and electrical system validation.
  • Knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS).
