Electrical Design EngineerScotstoun, Glasgow12-month Contract (Inside IR35)37 hrs/week£30.80 PAYE or £41.41 UmbrellaWorking Arrangements: 2 days on site per week (potential for fully remote)BAE Systems Naval Ships is seeking an experienced Electrical Designer with a strong background in power distribution, lighting, and electrical systems design. You’ll deliver detailed electrical design solutions, ensure technical compliance, and act as a key contributor within the electrical design team.Key Responsibilities:Deliver and verify high-quality electrical detail design outputsProduce and check electrical schematics, cable schedules, and system diagramsConduct design reviews, audits, and quality assurance activitiesSupport Team Leads and collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering stakeholdersProvide technical guidance on electrical systems, power distribution, and lighting designEnsure designs meet applicable defence, safety, and engineering standardsAbout You:Strong background in electrical detail design or electrical engineeringExperience with electrical design tools (e.g. AutoCAD, FORAN, or similar)Knowledge of power distribution systems, lighting, and control systemsPrevious experience working within a Naval Ships or defence environment desirableGood understanding of electrical design processes and quality standardsConfident communicator with ability to support and mentor junior team membersApprenticeship, HNC/ONC, or equivalent electrical engineering qualification desirableJoin a leading defence organisation delivering world-class naval electrical systems.Apply now to be part of BAE Systems Naval Ships.
