Electrical Designer / Drafter

The Electrical Designer / Drafter is responsible for creating automation control panel and schematic drawings using AutoCAD software.   This role also includes generating and/or maintaining bill of materials using Excel. This individual must have a good understanding of electrical panel and schematic detailed design.

Responsibilities

• Working with Electrical Staff to understand System Control Strategies and Electrical conceptual designs to then create detailed electrical CAD drawings
• Industrial control panel layout of electrical cabinets, including panel sizing, panel cutouts, DIN rail placement, and wiring management layout
• Components selection (PLCs,  sensors, drives, etc)
• Schematic generation (wiring diagrams, I/O diagrams, etc)    
• Checking and correcting As-Built Electrical Drawings

Work Environment

• Most all of the work is performed in the employer's workplace in Belcamp. Travel will be minimal.  Typical travel would be short trips to fabrication partner facilities. Remote work on occasion is a potential.

Competencies:

·         Actual panel / schematic detailed design experience required

·         CAD application experience is strongly preferred

·         Experience with robotic and packaging based machines is a benefit

·         Experience with Allen Bradley RSLogix programming environment is a benefit

·         Knowledge of electrical standards such as NFPA 79 , NEC or UL508a is a benefit

·         Must be a team player with strong organizational and detail oriented skills 

·         Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time efficiently

·         Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) proficiency

·         High School Diploma or GED
