Engineer Job Description

1.    Description:

a.    Seeking an individual with an engineering background with the ability to manage multiple projects at a time.  Projects include writing technical documents, creating information videos, program and troubleshooting industrial electrical control systems including PLCs, HMIs, pneumatic valves, meters, and pumps.  This individual will need the ability to read and create electrical schematics and P&IDs and specify electrical and mechanical components. 

2.    Who we are:

a.    Estabrook Assembly Service, Inc. is a supplier of batching equipment for the concrete industry.  We also design and fabricate systems for the industrial process industry.

3.    Requirements:

a.    Good technical writing skills.

b.    Good communication skills for phone technical support and email communications.

c.     Practical knowledge of process instrumentation such as flow meters, level sensors, temperature controllers, pressure sensors, etc.

d.    PLC and HMI programming experience.

e.    Experience in reading electrical schematics.

f.      Strong working knowledge of Microsoft operating system and Microsoft Office products.              

4.    Desires:

a.    Bachelor’s degree in engineering. 

b.    Experience with AutoCAD.

c.     Experience with SolidWorks.

d.    Technical writing experience; manuals and procedures.

e.    Manipulate SQL databases.

f.      Ability to read P&IDs.

g.    Experience in batching and process controls.

5.    Current tasks needed to be performed.

a.    Manuals for Dual Meter.

b.    Procedures for Dual Meter.

c.     Spreadsheet for Dual Meter Shipments.

d.    Troubleshoot Dual Meter calls.

e.    Create instructional videos.

f.      Organize shop, storage, and flow.

g.    Implement a better method of sharing and backing up files.

6.    Interview Questions:

a.    Describe any experience you have with AutoCAD.

b.    Describe any experience with 480VAC.

c.     Describe any experience programming PLC.

d.    Describe any experience with PC programming such as VB.net, C++, Java

e.    Describe any experience troubleshooting electrical circuits.

f.      Describe any experience with industrial controls.

i.      Describe any experience wiring 120 / 480 VAC.
