Vanderweil Engineers is a top ranked national full-service engineering firm specializing in MEP/FP, and technology services. Working in multiple sectors including Science & Technology, Mission Critical, Academic, Healthcare, Government and Commercial buildings. In our 75th year in operation with a staff of 500 + located across nine offices, we are proud to be one of the leading independently owned engineering firms in the country.As an Electrical Engineer, you will be working in various market sectors; primarily federal / government, commercial, academic, and science & technology. Our federal projects afford you the unique opportunity to see the inner workings of our country’s historic and institutional buildings. Opportunities in large scale mission critical data center projects also exist.Expand your skillset and have a voice by working outside the box with the way we approach projects at Vanderweil.Some of your responsibilities include the following: Execute electrical designs in accordance with codes, the Electrical Department’s Procedures and Standards, along with specific client standards.Knowledge of medium voltage systems and emergency systems including uninterruptible power systems, generators, automatic transfer switches, and lighting inverters.Knowledge in how Revit is used for 3D model electrical system components.Prepare backup documentation to support design efforts including load calculations, voltage drop calculations, lighting power density and lighting illumination levels.Model one-line diagrams, to execute a short circuit analysis and coordination study.Perform site surveys of existing conditions to inform the basis of design reports.Essential Skills & Requirements3+ years of related experienceBachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experienceRevit is a plusUnderstanding of the NEC, IBC and IECCOur Flexible & Hybrid Work CultureAt Vanderweil Engineers, we believe our best work is done when flexibility is offered.
