Overview Our Client, an Engineering, Architecture and Professional Land Surveying firm, is currently seeking an experienced electrical engineer to join their staff in their Eastern Iowa or Western Illinois locations. Qualified applicants should be a licensed engineer in Iowa and/or Illinois with 5 years of experience in electrical engineering design, with proficiency in CAD, “Sketchup” and “Revit” software, and have a passion for creating high quality design in a collaborative work environment. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is required Ability to become or already licensed in Illinois and/or Iowa is required 5 years of experience Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products, AutoCAD and Revit Strong Communication skills and time management skills Ability to collaboratively work with other disciplines, maintain budgets, and work with other engineers throughout the organization Responsibilities Design Electrical systems for a variety of project types including but not limited to schools, nursing homes, housing authorities, churches, commercial and governmental institutions from concept design to implementation Perform site visits to complete field surveys of existing facilities that are to be remodeled and/or have additions Perform site visits after design, during construction to monitor project progress, and construction in accordance with plans and specifications Preparation of drawings and specifications for electrical systems in close coordination with mechanical engineers and their preparation of plans and specifications for plumbing and HVAC Systems Technical experience in the preparation of construction drawings, specifications, submittals, and construction administration Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematic drawings Review electrical engineering plans to ensure adherence to design specifications and compliance with applicable electrical codes and standards Design electrical distribution systems for electrical installation in residential, commercial, or industrial buildings, using computer-aided design (CAD), and REVIT software Develop proposals, meet with clients, and other senior level activities Perform lighting calculations utilizing visual lighting software Prepare COMcheck spreadsheets for interior and exterior lighting to show compliance with appropriate IECC code requirements Evaluate existing electrical distribution systems and provide engineering solutions that support new additions and/or restorations and their electrical power requirements Benefits 401(k) with Company Matching and ROTH options Flexible schedule/work life balance Paid Time Off Health insurance Dental/Vision Insurance Flexible Spending Account Life Insurance Short Term Disability Long Term Disability Yearly apparel credit and boot allowance Yearly Performance Bonus Job Type: Full-time Hours: Monday – Friday 8am-5pm #J-18808-Ljbffr
