Electrical Designer (EIT)
Full‑time position at Hanson Professional Services Inc.
Responsibilities
Support electrical design efforts on a variety of projects across the country, with emphasis on Hanson’s Government market.
Assist with planning, design, and construction support activities under guidance of licensed Professional Engineers and project managers.
Prepare and revise electrical drawings, specifications, and design documentation.
Support design of electrical power distribution systems, interior and exterior lighting systems, and fire alarm/low‑voltage systems.
Assist with lighting and power system design, grounding systems, electrical distribution layouts, and equipment selection.
Support generator and emergency power system design.
Prepare calculations and assist with construction administration tasks, including submittal reviews and field observations.
Coordinate with project engineers, designers, and CAD/Revit technicians.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
Engineering in Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain within six months.
0–2 years of experience in consulting professional services or a closely related field.
Familiarity with electrical drawings, specifications, and design documentation.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Revit.
Preferred: Progress toward Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.
Preferred: Exposure to electrical, building, and energy codes.
Preferred: Experience working on multidisciplinary project teams.
Preferred: Understanding of power distribution, lighting systems, and electrical calculations.
Preferred: Familiarity with lighting calculation software (Visual, AGI32), basic power system analysis tools (voltage drop, short‑circuit calculations), and energy analysis tools (COMcheck, FLACOM, EnergyGauge).

Salary
Salary Range: $75,000 - $90,000.
