We’re looking for a driven Electrical Engineer or Electrical Designer to contribute to a growing portfolio of commercial building design projects in Columbus, Ohio. This role focuses on developing electrical systems for commercial facilities while providing a clear pathway for professional growth into Project Engineer or Project Manager responsibilities.

The ideal candidate has experience designing electrical systems for commercial, office, retail, healthcare, or institutional buildings and understands collaborative engineering workflows within multidisciplinary design teams.

This position offers exposure to diverse projects and provides a supportive environment for engineers interested in building long-term careers in commercial building systems design.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems for commercial, office, retail, healthcare, and institutional facilities
• Develop and coordinate power distribution systems, grounding systems, lighting layouts, and control systems
• Prepare electrical drawings including schematics, panel schedules, and construction documents
• Collaborate with architects, mechanical engineers, structural engineers, and project teams to ensure coordinated designs
• Conduct site visits and field investigations to verify existing conditions and project requirements
• Apply National Electrical Code (NEC) standards and industry best practices to project designs
• Prepare and maintain electrical specifications and technical documentation
• Maintain productive working relationships with internal teams, clients, and manufacturer representatives

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred

• Experience designing commercial building electrical systems

• Proficiency with AutoCAD (Revit experience preferred but not required)

• Familiarity with electrical equipment, materials, and building system components

• Basic understanding of electrical calculations and building system analysis

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills

• Effective written and verbal communication abilities

• Ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary engineering team
