The Electrical Engineer will play a key role in the development of Industrial products working with Yamabiko (parent company), suppliers, and product testing in a team environment. The ideal candidate will have product design experience using various manufacturing methods and the ability to actively participate in the new product development process. The salary range for this position starts at $115,000 based on years of experience and qualifications. This is a hybrid position that will offer the flexibility of working from home and on-site at our Lake Zurich facility. ECHO’s benefits include: 11 paid holidays Extremely affordable medical, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off Yearly bonus potential 5% 401K match Duties/Responsibilities: Collaborate with fellow engineers to support the development of IPE products—including generators, trailers, and light towers—as well as enhance existing products and integrate new accessories using electrical engineering and programming expertise. Contribute to a variety of activities beyond electrical work, such as prototyping, supplier discussions, product testing, and investigating market-related defects. Partner effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders (including Yamabiko Japan), fulfilling assigned tasks while providing consistent updates, reports, and technical consultations to supervisors. Deliver technical support to both sales and service teams. Strengthen technical and operational capabilities through hands‑on training with experienced staff, participation in formal training programs, and training opportunities in Japan. Be able to travel for business needs (up to 20%), including international travel. Job Experience/Skills: 10+ years of experience in electrical development and design. 5+ years of project management experience within an engineering environment. At least 5 years of experience in circuit design and drawing creation; proficiency with SolidWorks 3D CAD for modeling and drafting is a plus. Candidates with interest or experience in both mechanical and electrical work are preferred. Strong knowledge of power generation systems and control engineering principles. Preferred background working with generators, light towers, engines, and other industrial equipment. Experience or familiarity with manufacturing techniques such as PCB design, wiring harness design, electrical schematic creation, component prototyping, and electrical data measurement (not all required). Ability to use measurement tools—including calipers, micrometers, gage pins, oscilloscopes, and data acquisition equipment—to verify design specifications. Basic fabrication skills using a range of tools. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Education: A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline is required, along with more than 10 years of relevant professional experience.
