A leading energy provider is seeking a dedicated and experienced Electrical Engineer to join its team at a pumped storage hydroelectric facility located in Warm Springs, Virginia. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the delivery of reliable, affordable, and increasingly sustainable energy.If you're passionate about safety, innovation, and collaboration-and looking for more than just a job-this could be the career move for you.Veterans Welcome: Candidates with military experience (E5-E9, W1-CW5, or O3-O6) and equivalent education and experience are encouraged to apply.Please note: Visa sponsorship or employment authorization transfers are not available for this position.Position OverviewThe selected candidate will provide technical and engineering support for plant operations, with responsibilities including:Conducting root cause analyses and troubleshooting electrical systemsAssessing equipment condition (e.g., vibration, oil analysis)Developing and reviewing equipment specificationsManaging breaker monitoring programsReviewing and issuing permits for digging, drilling, or cuttingOverseeing contractors and consultantsSupporting capital project reviews and inspectionsPerforming generator and equipment inspectionsThis position will be filled at either the Engineer or Senior Engineer level, depending on qualifications and experience.QualificationsEngineer LevelMinimum 2 years of relevant engineering experienceStrong understanding of engineering principles and practicesValid driver's licenseFamiliarity with plant electrical systems, including generators, relays, motor controls, and SF6 breakersAbility to work in challenging environments (confined spaces, elevated areas, tunnels)Proficiency in technical software and report preparationSenior Engineer LevelMinimum 5 years of relevant engineering experienceAdvanced knowledge of engineering theories and applicationsProven leadership and project management skillsStrong communication and technical writing abilitiesIn-depth experience with plant electrical systems and troubleshootingAbility to lead teams and manage complex technical challengesEducation RequirementsBachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical Engineering preferred)Degrees must meet specific accreditation criteria (ABET or equivalent international standards)Preferred CertificationsProfessional Engineer (PE) license is preferred, with the ability to obtain reciprocity in Virginia and other states.Working ConditionsExposure to various environmental conditions (heat, cold, noise, confined spaces, etc.)Fieldwork in rugged terrain and off-road driving may be requiredTravel up to 25%Additional InformationNo pre-employment testing requiredCompliance with U.S. export control laws may affect applicant eligibilityCompetitive compensation and comprehensive benefits package offered, including health coverage, retirement plans, paid time off, and tuition reimbursementEqual Opportunity Employer: All qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, veteran status, or disability.
