Who We Are
Space Kinetic is a cleared, venture‑backed startup focused on addressing urgent national security priorities. Our goal is to deliver a suite of asymmetric capabilities for space superiority and missile defense leveraging our proprietary electromechanical deployment system, which enables the rapid deployment of low‑cost payloads through space without firing a thruster. Space Kinetic is currently assembling its TRL‑5 prototype to provide the United States with a new tool for securing the space domain and catalyzing the emerging space economy.
Our Intern Program
Space Kinetic’s internship program is designed to identify top early‑career talent for potential full‑time roles. Over the three‑month program, interns are paired with a mentor, assigned one to three meaningful projects, and provide monthly progress updates to the management team. Interns who demonstrate strong performance, ownership, and alignment with Space Kinetic’s mission may receive a full‑time offer upon successful completion of the internship.
What You’ll Do
Interns acquire hands‑on learning experience while working on meaningful projects to gain significant career experience. At Space Kinetic, we provide the tools, training, and mentorship for interns to do their very best work and discover opportunities to advance their careers, providing a pathway for personal growth.
As an Electrical Engineer Intern, this role will include a combination of design and hands‑on activities to support the development, design, assembly, troubleshooting, and repair of innovative electrical and mechanical systems. The intern will work closely with senior electrical and mechanical designers and have an opportunity to participate in circuit and system design and analysis using industry standard design and modelling tools. As designs are fabricated, the intern will participate in troubleshooting and testing of the prototype equipment and contribute to system integration tasks including interconnecting sensors, data acquisition systems, motor drivers, and computers. Candidates should possess strong engineering fundamentals and have a passion for both hands‑on design and analysis. The Intern will be working with Space Kinetic engineers on site, supporting testing of prototypes, collecting data, and providing reports to the engineering team.
