Electrical Project Engineer - Substation QA/QC Date: Apr 3, 2026 Location: Houston, TX; Chicago, IL; Overland Park, KS; Dallas, TX; Bloomington, MN Company: Black & Veatch Family of Companies Key Responsibilities Function as a quality control/quality assurance engineer within the substation quality management group (QMG). Perform QA/QC of substation design packages, including physical design, protective relaying/control with an emphasis on continuous improvement. Collaborate with the substation design team. Develop knowledge and provide guidance on design guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes and B&V policies. Apply B&V quality program, support continuous improvement and change management efforts. Prepare engineering deliverables, research, equipment/material selection, calculations, budgets, schedules and quality requirements. Coordinate with internal/external team members on moderately complex projects. Assist with client interest identification and communication; support business development activities. Provide technical consultation to project teams; design and support complex technical challenges. Mentor lower-level professionals; support career planning and leadership development. Preferred Qualifications Substation QA/QC experience; physical and/or protection & controls. Experience coordinating with clients, multidisciplinary leads, and PMs. Professional Engineer (PE) License. Proficient with Bluebeam Revu and Microsoft Office. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited program. Minimum 5 years related work experience. Will pass pre‑employment background checks and drug screen.
