Position Overview We are seeking a hands‑on, detail‑oriented Electrical Systems Planner to lead the planning, documentation, and execution of industrial control system installations. This is a dual‑role position ideal for someone who thrives in both the office and the field—managing CAD‑based electrical layouts and leading field crews during execution. If you have experience taking jobs from electrical concept through to field completion—and enjoy working closely with engineering teams, installers, and customers—this role is for you. Key Responsibilities Develop complete electrical documentation packages including schematics, single‑line diagrams, panel layouts, and cable/conduit schedules Create and revise CAD drawings using AutoCAD, EPLAN, or similar tools Conduct site walks and meetings with customers to define installation scopes and requirements Prepare accurate installation quotes for labor and materials Generate electrical BOMs, device layouts, and wire schedules for installations Support control system design and architecture reviews with engineering teams Oversee field installations of control panels, I/O wiring, instrumentation, and 480V motor terminations Supervise subcontractors and field installers to ensure high‑quality, code‑compliant work Coordinate project schedules and resource planning with internal teams and clients Troubleshoot electrical issues and support commissioning/startup Conduct site readiness walkthroughs and final QA/QC inspections Preferred Skills & Experience 5+ years of experience in industrial electrical planning, controls integration, or field installation Proficient with AutoCAD, EPLAN, or other electrical CAD software Deep knowledge of control panel layouts, PLC wiring, and field device integration Skilled in interpreting and generating electrical schematics and installation drawings Familiarity with NEC, NFPA 70E, and electrical safety standards Strong organizational and communication skills with a team‑oriented mindset Willingness to travel for on‑site work and installations Journeyman or Master Electrician license is a plus Why South Shore Controls?
