Job Description: We are seeking an Electrical Technical Specialist to join our Tennessee Operations in Alcoa, Tennessee. Offer technical leadership and training to craft employees, enhancing their technical capabilities.
Develop solutions to recurring design, process, and application problems, and analyze equipment and process data to identify improvement opportunities.
Assist the maintenance department with short and long-term outage planning and follow-up on VPM issues and daily management action register items.
Manage and implement small capital projects, major repairs, and maintenance initiatives.
Provide direct support to the Maintenance Organization and respond to trouble calls on a 24/7 basis, including frequent shift and weekend line/maintenance support.
Design manufacturing processes and procedures, focusing on continuous improvement of manufacturing methods.
Collaborate with manufacturing personnel, acting as a technical resource, and assist in the justification of new equipment.
Interface with other departments to address and resolve technical issues, adhering to the company's EH&S, quality, continuous improvement, and other policies.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of experience with electrical systems and controls in industrial applications.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States (no visa sponsorship available).
Preferred Qualifications:
5+ years of experience with manufacturing processes and principles.
Expertise in product and process failure analysis and knowledge of world-class manufacturing techniques (e.g., lean manufacturing, FMEA, RCM, SPC, TQM).
Experience in installing, programming, and troubleshooting AC drives, DC drives, and AB Logix5000 series PLCs.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
Strong background in maintenance, with familiarity with HART communications and gas-fired combustion systems.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
