Summary:
-
Hands-on development, fabrication, and modification of Hardware-In-The-Loop testing for propulsion avionics components, including data acquisition systems, controllers, valves, and test instrumentation, within Spaceship Propulsion.

Develop and assemble test bench setups and fixtures per engineering specifications and schematics.
-
Fabricate and maintain electronic hardware, test setups, wiring harnesses, and ground support equipment.
-
Build electrical harnesses per engineering drawings and FAA, DOD, or NASA standards.
-
Design, modify, and maintain electrical schematics using configuration management systems.
-
Calibrate and maintain instrumentation such as pressure transducers, thermocouples, RTDs, and strain gauges.

Develop and modify control and indicator panels/boxes per requirements.
-
Install and integrate sensors, including strain gauges, accelerometers, and associated hardware.
-
Troubleshoot and upgrade propulsion test systems, electronics, and documentation.

Support pre-test checkouts for rocket systems, including controllers and pressurization systems.

Manage the Propulsion Avionics Lab, including inventory and equipment maintenance.

Assist with rocket motor production testing and automation processes.
Required Skills:
-
Minimum of 2 years of college-level education or equivalent work experience.
-
Experience with flight hardware assembly, high-pressure valves, and electrical integration.
-
Familiarity with aerospace electrical practices, soldering, and harness fabrication.

Proficiency in interpreting and creating circuit and harness schematics.
-
Ability to work in hazardous environments with high-energy materials.
Desired Skills:
-
Technical college graduate or recognized apprenticeship preferred.
-
4+ years of relevant aerospace electrical experience preferred.
-
Flight test, R&D, or aircraft avionics maintenance experience is a plus.
-
Federal Communications Certificate.
-
FAA Airframe & Powerplant License, Repairman, or AET certification.
-
Electronics certifications (e.g., NASA-STD-8739.4, IPC standards).

Familiarity with DMC tooling, soldering, and D38999 connectors.

Fabrication skills with metal and composites preferred.
