Job Title: Electrician
Location: Mount Vernon, IL
Duration: Full Time Permanent
Pay range: $25/hr- $28/hr with benefits
Responsibilities

Repair, replace and troubleshoot electrical systems on coal mining equipment approximately 80% of their time. Analyze circuits, wiring diagrams and blueprints to calibrate, service, repair or install electronic devices and build control panels. Run tests, isolate problems, and replace faulty section of wiring. Works within MSHA-specified guidelines to ensure his own safety and that of other workers. Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and other technical documents. Willing to perform physically demanding tasks, such as lift heavy objects, climbing ladders, crawling.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required. This is normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent. Ability to identify wires by color. Ability to work in various positions, including working in small spaces. Ability to read and interpret diagrams, blueprints and assembly prints. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds required. Prior experience working with high voltage systems, 400-600 amps.
REQUIRED SKILLS:

Ability to properly use hand tools including volt meters, wire strippers, etc.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Working conditions are normal for a shop environment. Work involves frequent lifting of materials up to 50 pounds. Machinery and tool operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, steel-toe boots. Loose fitting clothes and jewelry should not be worn.
