Journeyman Electrician – Rate of Pay $47.22/hr. This position requires completion of a formal apprentice program or an equivalent number of years of education and/or experience. Responsibilities Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures using hand tools and power tools. Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem. Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, ensuring compliance with codes. Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in wiring, equipment, and fixtures using devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes to ensure compatibility and safety. Work with low, medium, and high voltages, including troubleshooting and testing of 440 V and 2300 V breakers and motor starter circuits. Read and work from schematics and prints. Install conduit and wire properly; preferred experience with PLCs. Climb ladders and work from elevated equipment. Qualifications Must have working knowledge of the National Electrical Code and strong understanding of safe electrical practices. All new Journeyman Electricians must qualify for a Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC). Success in background screening, including motor vehicle record screening, drug testing, and pre-employment medical requirements.
