Electrified Aircraft Propulsion Controls Engineer Aerospace Engineer II NASA Glenn Research Center Brook Park, Ohio HX5 is an award-winning provider of engineering, research and development, and technical services to clients such as NASA and the Department of Defense. Founded in 2004, HX5 is a fast-growing veteran- and woman-owned company with locations nationwide. HX5 is currently seeking an aerospace engineer to join our team in Brook Park, Ohio in support of the GEARS contract at NASA Glenn Research Center. Responsibilities Develop models and simulations for EAP applications Support hardware-in-the-loop testing and evaluation of advanced control algorithms Support data processing and perform trade studies of EAP applications This effort is monitored by the Intelligent Control and Autonomy Branch at NASA GRC, which conducts research and development of technologies to increase the level of intelligence and autonomy in complex aerospace space systems with a strong focus on aero-space propulsion systems. Required Skills Proficient in Matlab and Simulink Experience in modeling and simulation of aerospace systems Experience or knowledge of advanced control methods Excellent written and verbal communication skills Highly motivated and able to work independently Committed to successful collaboration with the NASA team and partners Desired Skills Experience with hardware-in-the-loop testing Experience or knowledge of electrified aircraft systems Experience working on NASA projects Education/Experience Completed at least a bachelor of science degree in a STEM-related major, from an accredited program, with the following education and experience: Master’s degree with 0 to 3 years of experience Bachelor’s degree with 2 to 5 years of experience Other Position Requirements Proof of U.S. Citizenship is a requirement for this position. Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
