Apply today!$30+ hourly plus shift premium Based on Experience, shift differential for nightsResponsibilitiesPerform general and preventive maintenance work including mechanical, 1 3 phase electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, plumbing, and fabricationEnsures safe operations through adherence to Environmental, Health, and Safety programs and proceduresStrict adherence to housekeeping, clean work areas upon completing a project, and plant GMPsProvide maintenance support to all stations effectively and efficientlyEnsures operation of plant equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirementsPerform predictive maintenance on mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic, and electrical systemsLocate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instrumentsRemove defective parts by dismantling equipment; using hand and power tools, and cranes and hoists when necessaryFunction as an engaged team member and contribute to the site's continuous improvement effortsAble to effectively and safely operate standard maintenance tools such as power tools, basic hand tools, and basic electrical test metersPerform pneumatic, and hydraulic system troubleshooting and repairsEffectively pass down to next shift personnel, unfinished repairs, and unresolved maintenance/production issuesCommunicate with the production supervisor and plant manager on product runs, equipment problems, packaging issues, and potential downtimeMaintain positive working relationships with supervisor and co-workersThe Maintenance Technician is responsible for the overall maintenance and repairs of production equipment, and facilitiesKeeps the immediate supervisor informed of relevant activities on shift and takes or recommends corrective action when requiredDemonstrates a positive attitude and relates in a positive manner when interacting with all personnelKeep detailed and accurate equipment recordsMaintain awareness of customer and regulatory demands and focusResponsible for adhering to quality system requirementsMaintain all equipment in the facility to the manufacturer's specificationFollows through on the plant's preventative maintenance programRepairs down or damaged equipmentPerforms testing and diagnostic duties as requiredPerforms other duties as assignedFollow the plant safety rules, and report incidents of unsafe conditions immediatelyHandle additional maintenance tasks as neededExamine building windows, walls, and doors for damage and perform repairs when neededEnsure all equipment and systems such as HVAC units, plumbing fixtures, and electrical wiring are in working order by conducting routine maintenance and handle any repairs, if neededMake records of when any equipment was services and repairs were madeQualificationsMust have the ability to read electrical printsExcellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsUnderstand and follow written and oral instructions in the English languageAbility to work with little to no supervisionMust have proven working knowledge of electrical/mechanical skills and have operational knowledge of basic tools and equipmentPrior experience or education related to mechanical systems, instrumentation, and industrial automation. Experience working in a food plant would be ideal. Mechanical aptitude including:Ability to perform typical maintenance activities related to troubleshooting and repair of equipmentElectricity, able to perform basic troubleshooting using test instrumentationOperate, maintain, and perform chemical testing of the boilers, refrigeration, and wastewater systemsAbility to identify problems and recommend or follow through on appropriate solutionsFlexible availability for on-call maintenance requests on nights and weekendsShould be able to demonstrate understanding of heating and air conditioning units, plumbing systems, and electrical systemsStrong understanding of maintenance equipment, techniques and proceduresExcellent work ethic, communication skills, time management skills, and attention to detail2+ years of maintenance experience required
