V2X Mobile Sensors is looking for an Electronic Technician to join our team onboard the USNS Howard O. Lorenzen and the Cobra King Platform. The V2X Mobile Sensors (MS) program performs Operations and Maintenance (O&M) for a ship based marine mobile platform with complex multi-mission X-Band and S-Band phased array radar and communication systems which have a sophisticated command & control computing structure, along with communication interfaces and support sub-systems. These systems and the program assigned employees are tasked to primarily operate in the US Indo-Pacific Command's (USINDOPACOM) Area of Responsibility. Our program ensures the COBRA KING (CK) radar and communication systems are ready for operation 24 hours a day for 7-days a week and can support mission operations on very short notice. This role will perform and assist the Mobile Sensors program in planning, organizing, and executing operations and maintenance of the radar systems and/or communication equipment. In performance of this mission, this role will be required to support the direction of the Mechanical Leads (MEL) performing scheduled maintenance, directed daily operations, equipment evaluations, testing and calibrating of equipment, and ensuring work is performed in compliance with company standards and regulations, following established MSOPs. This position will report to the MEL and/or Deputy MEL to resolve issues and report on activities. This position will require personnel to live and work for extended shifts/periods onboard a ship that will operate in/out of overseas ports. This position will report to the MEL and/or Deputy MEL to resolve issues and report on activities. This Position requires meeting the maritime medical physical requirements. This position, although V2X, is represented by the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW), Local 2088, and the pay and benefits are per the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). Duties and Responsibilities Complete daily operational tasks as directed, conduct the daily/monthly/annual preventative maintenance as required, and daily inspections and operational validation of all systems. Conduct setup and calibration of radar equipment, ensuring proper function. Performing regular checks to maintain optimal performance. Assist in testing and troubleshooting radar systems, identify and resolve issues as appropriate/directed. Assist management in incorporating and/or identifying new procedures or updating current standard operating procedures. Provide accurate and timely reporting of repairs, installations, and maintenance activities. Provide feedback for process improvements and conduct continuous learning of technical knowledge and expertise of radar systems. Conduct safety audits and training to mitigate risk with associated equipment. Maintain clean work environment to include workshop, equipment rooms, and radar spaces. Perform incidental related duties as assigned or required. Desired Skills Knowledge in the operation and maintenance of electro‑mechanical systems, hydraulic motors, highly complex gearboxes, compressors, dehydrators, air handling units, etc. Certified and/or trained to the standards of: United States Navy A‑School, USAF Electrical and Environmental Systems, Cryptologic Technicians, Operations Specialists, Interior Communications Electricians or the equivalent civilian/military electrical or mechanical trade schools, vocational‑technical schools, or technical institutes.
