24/25 Elementary Montessori Teacher Opening:
May Center for Learning is excited to announce a full-time teaching position opening with benefits for a Montessori trained teacher passionate about working with elementary students with learning differences. May Center for Learning is located in beautiful and historic Santa Fe, New Mexico, an artistic mecca surrounded by mountains, mesas and hot springs offering unparalleled access to the outdoors for recreation, sport and rejuvenation.
Responsibilities:
- Developing lesson plans, independent learning exercises, curricula, and methods that cater to the needs of the individual child.
- Observing, guiding, supervising, and assessing children while they learn in the classroom environment.
- Creating and maintaining a safe, clean, stimulating classroom that promotes self-regulation where all children feel safe and valued.
- Establishing rapport and building relationships with students based on trust.
- Ensuring classroom supplies and equipment are available and in working condition.
- Participating in school activities and accompanying students on field trips.
- Providing explicit reading and language instruction to students based on evidence-based intervention methods (using the SEE curriculumcertification course provided and required as part of employment)
- Using various assessment tools/strategies to help make instructional decisions for individual students (such as observations, childrens work samples, portfolios, DIBELS, etc.)
- Communicating effectively and frequently with parents, lead parent conferences, and completing quarterly progress reports for each student.
- Working closely with the Director to ensure compliance with ECECD program requirements and licensure.
- Participating in pedagogy and faculty trainings and complete professional development and certification required of all May Center faculty members
- Providing an environment that teaches respect, compassion, and responsibility for all members of the May Center community

The ideal candidates qualifications will include:
- Bachelors degree or higher in Education, or a related field.
- Montessori certification.
- 3+ years of teaching experience teaching in a Montessori environment.
- Experience working with students with language-based learning differences.
