Cornerstone Christian Academy for Learning and Leadership (CCALL) is now accepting applications for the 2024-25 Academic Year.

Position: Elementary School Teacher
Location: Vancouver & Battle Ground Campuses

Schedule: 7:303:30 (Van Campus) & 7:153:15 (BG Campus)

Salary Range: $37,475$69,156 (Dependent on education and experience)

Benefits: Full-time staff enjoy health insurance (in compliance with state and federal laws), paid time-off (PTO)/sick leave accrual, and ten paid holidays annually.

Position Brief
CCALL is a private Christian school that teaches students to think, learn, and lead from a Biblical worldview.
We provide a rigorous and relevant Christian education that equips students for leadership in a changing world. Cornerstones culture inspires and reveals the learners giftedness, passion, and curiosity.
Function
Ideal candidates will create an exceptional grade-level program and a class environment favorable to learning and personal growth. Teachers will establish effective rapport with students and motivate them to develop the understanding, skills, knowledge, and attitudes needed to provide a solid foundation for their future. Teachers will establish team relationships by partnering with parents and other staff members.
Duties of this job include, but are not limited to:

  • Christian role modeling by living the CCALL Statement of Faith.
  • Maintain an ongoing personal relationship with Jesus Christ and continued spiritual development.
  • Development of units of instruction and instructional materials consistent with the schools curriculum maps by using the principles of Understanding by Design by Grant Wiggins and Jay McTighe.
  • Teach Bible, English-language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies utilizing the adopted curriculum maps.
  • Guide students in development of biblical character and citizenship.
  • Use a variety of instructional strategies such as whole class, small group, and individualized instruction; lecture and discussion; inquiry and discovery; and technology.
  • Create a range of assessments that appropriately collect evidence of student understanding, knowledge, and skills.
  • Differentiate the curriculum to meet the needs of each student.
  • Translate lesson plans into learning experiences that best utilize available time for instruction.
  • Establish and maintain standards of student behavior to achieve a productive classroom atmosphere for learning.
  • Evaluate students academic and social growth and keep appropriate records including progress reports and report cards.
  • Effectively communicate with parents through conferences and other means to discuss student progress and the school program.
  • Create an effective environment for learning through functional and attractive displays, bulletin boards, and interest centers.
  • Supervise students during the school day at recess, and dismissal.
  • Support the schools standardized assessment program.
  • Participate in staff development programs and cultivate professional growth through other educational in-service activities.
  • Keep current with subject area development including teaching resources and methods. Make relevant changes to instructional plans and activities.
  • Participate in faculty committees.
  • Support PTF and school sponsored student activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree or higher from an accredited institution.

Preferred Qualifications

  • WA State teacher certification.
  • Relevant teaching experience.
  • Proficient with relevant technology e.g., Microsoft applications including Teams.
