Elevator Service Technician
The Elevator Service Technician is responsible for the troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of vertical transportation systems, ensuring they operate efficiently and safely in compliance with regulations and codes. The technician will perform tests, repairs, and regular maintenance on elevators, escalators, and other related equipment, handling after-hours emergencies when on call.
Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain vertical transportation equipment and systems.
- Test and evaluate equipment to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Operate and maintain systems safely and according to work standards.
- Respond to after-hours emergencies and participate in the on-call rotation.
- Maintain dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications & Competencies:
- Minimum of 4 years' experience in vertical equipment maintenance and repair.
- State Certification is required.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting safety rules, schematics, and manuals.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Basic math proficiency and the ability to use a calculator.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
- Knowledge of local codes and regulations, as well as PC and Windows applications.
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing ladders, and performing physically demanding tasks.
- Team player with flexibility to work retail hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
- Ability to crouch, kneel, stoop, and climb ladders.
- Frequent lifting and moving of heavy items (up to 50 lbs).
- Comfortable operating escalators, elevators, and other machinery.
- Travel between multiple locations may be required.
