Summary of Work

As an Eligibility Worker II, you will be assisting in the onboarding of new team members, answering policy and system questions, coach and consult on complex issues, review work for timeliness and accuracy, determining eligibility and authorize various state and federal program benefits, establish claims, receive, and submit IPVs/appeals and participate in fair hearings, management of workload, attend various leadership and staff meetings, and complete trainings.

To succeed in this position, you should be organized, able to be an independent worker and a positive team member and role model and be accountable to the responsibilities of the role. You will have an eye for detail and problem-solving. You should be able to manage your time and priorities effectively and have demonstrated ability to communicate and engage with diverse populations.

Minimum Qualifications

Required High School Degree or GED and one year work experience involving duties directly related to determining eligibility for human services economic assistance programs.

Plus, one of the following:

Completion of the Eligibility Worker Certificate Program offered at Bismarck State College or formerly offered at Lake Region State College;

Completion of 90 semester hours or 135 quarter hours of a bachelor's degree program;

Graduation from high school or GED and three years of work experience involving processing claims, loans, financial eligibility benefits, credit reviews, abstracts, taxes, or housing assistance, or working in the clerical, accounting, bookkeeping, legal financial business, teaching, investments/financial planning, computer/data processing fields; or

Three years of any combination of education and experience listed above.
