Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a nurturing and stimulating learning environment for students, fostering their intellectual and social development. This role requires a commitment to promoting literacy and early childhood education while accommodating diverse learning needs, including working with children on the autism spectrum.

Duties

  • Provide instruction to individuals or small groups of limited or non-English speaking students in a classroom, pull-out, supervised or other learning environment at an assigned school site.
  • Provide instruction of the core subjects in the students' native language.
  • Set up and manage the teaching-learning process in an effective bilingual/bicultural environment.
  • Obtain and demonstrate knowledge of general education curriculum, including grade level expectations and State standards.

Skills

  • Strong background in literacy education and early childhood education is essential.
  • Experience working with children, particularly those with autism or special needs, is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in lesson planning, writing educational materials, and implementing effective teaching strategies.
  • Knowledge of education administration processes and childcare best practices.
  • Familiarity with library services and Montessori methods is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Ability to create a supportive and engaging learning atmosphere that promotes student well-being and academic success.

Qualifications:

Possess a Bachelor's Degree (Education) or related field. Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with appropriate endorsement(s) or Educator License with Stipulaitons (ELS).

Understanding and experience with curriculum design, planning and instruction.

Spanish Fluency required

Strong communication skills (written and oral)
