Job Description: Email Developer, Level 2 As an Email Developer (L2), you will be responsible for coding, reviewing, and testing email communications for our financial services and healthcare clients. This includes the development of responsive templates with simple to complex logic, adhering to accessibility standards, and coding for consistency across multiple email clients and device sizes. Additionally, this role will need an understanding of email best practices for deliverability and consumer engagement. At times, this role may interface with clients directly in order to validate requirements and facilitate approvals. Essential Functions Work with clients and customer support teams to provide email best practices and gather campaign requirements. Develop custom, pixel-perfect email templates from scratch, using HTML/CSS. Utilize tools to ensure emails render consistently across browsers, ESPs, and devices. Use scripting languages such as AmpScript or Handlebars to add logic, dynamic content, and variable data into email templates. Work with other development teams to troubleshoot technical issues related to email templates, data files, or deployment. Provide best practice recommendations for email accessibility, deliverability, and inbox optimization. Provide performance metrics and reporting to clients and stakeholders. Work with the team to improve processes and work methods for greater efficiency. Required Qualifications 3-5 years’ experience developing emails from scratch with HTML/CSS. Expertise in developing responsive emails. Experience with design programs, specifically with Adobe Creative Suite. In-depth knowledge of AmpScript, Handlebars, JavaScript or other relevant scripting language. Proficient with email compliance regulations such as CAN-SPAM and accessibility standards. Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and support skills. Demonstrate resourcefulness, motivation, and initiative. Ability to assist team members with questions related to email code and best practices. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to multitask and prioritize. Preferred Qualifications Experience using email testing and deliverability tools (Email on Acid, Litmus, etc.). Experience using email tracking pixels and analytics (Email on Acid, Litmus, Google Analytics, etc.). Knowledge of front or back-end development languages such as SQL, C#, .net, databases, etc. Education: N/A Experience: 3-5 years’ experience Supervision: N/A Certifications: N/A Language Skills Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from a variety of both internal and external sources.
