Role: Embedded Engineer + Device Drivers Location: San Jose, CA Remote Until Pandemic (Need to go onsite once for Orientation) Duration: 12 Months Experience Level: 5+ years Interview Process: 2 WebEx rounds Responsibilities Architect and develop highly-reliable embedded software and firmware. Develop low-level drivers for interfaces like CAN, I2C, SPI, and Ethernet. Implement and debug bare metal and real-time operating system designs. Essential Demonstrated experience in at least one of the following low level RTOS bring-up and development. BS/MS or PhD in Computer Science or a related field. Minimum 5 years related experience. Knowledge of both high- and low-level communication protocols, from I2C and SPI to TCP/IP Protocols. Excellent C++ programming, Python experience, and software design skills; expertise in other languages welcome. Basic knowledge of electrical engineering fundamentals to support low level debugging. Desirable Experience with ARM Cortex M4 or M7. Experience with NXP automotive microcontrollers a plus. Experience developing safety-critical systems (like ISO 26262), or developing to safety coding standards (MISRA, AUTOSAR, etc.) Experience configuring and developing drivers for Ethernet. Experience with software development processes for safety critical systems. Experience developing for both common and automotive specific RTOS implementations (FreeRTOS, SafeRTOS, QNX, AUTOSAR, etc.). Experience operating basic electronics test equipment such as multimeters, power supplies, and oscilloscopes. Project Areas Safety critical RTOS development & MPU integration Integration of 3rd party safety frameworks & libraries MCU configuration (ex. watchdogs, IPC interfaces, resource protection, etc.).
