Our client is seeking a highly skilled Embedded Software Engineer to join their team, a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys taking ideas from theory to deployment. In this position, you will play a crucial role in advancing our client's automated scheduling solution by integrating cutting-edge machine learning algorithms into satellites. If you get excited at the prospect of developing embedded network routing software for a dynamic mesh network, then this could be the role for you! Key Responsibilities Design and develop route optimization strategies using Python, C++ and Rust (previous Rust experience not essential). Implement embedded network routing software for a space-based mesh network. Create network simulations for satellite constellations and model communication interactions with ground-based assets. Conduct network design and trade-off studies and define protocols for OSI Layers 2 and 3. Provide network expertise to support data science and machine learning development. Qualifications Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident (Green Card holder). At least 2 years of professional experience as an Embedded Software or Network Engineer (or a similar role). Experience working with Python and C++ and/or Rust. Experience with ARM processors and developing embedded software. Knowledge of network protocols and routing algorithms such as MPLS, NETCONF/YANG, and Dijkstra's. Experience with hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) systems integration and testing. Strong troubleshooting skills for hardware, software, networking, and communication protocols. Familiarity with discrete-event network simulators like OMNET++. Understanding of IPSec, traffic shaping, QoS algorithms, cellular/satellite network protocols, and software-defined networks.
