They’re looking for a low-level Embedded Software Engineer who enjoys working close to the hardware and has strong experience in C and Embedded Linux environments.This role is ideal for someone who likes solving problems at the system level, including boot, kernel, drivers, and performance, rather than application-layer software.Key Responsibilities:Design, develop, and maintain low-level embedded software in CWork on Embedded Linux systems, including:Bootloaders (e.g. U-Boot)Linux Kernel configuration, customization, and debuggingBoard bring-up and hardware validationDevelop and maintain device drivers and BSPsDebug complex issues across hardware and software boundariesCollaborate closely with hardware, electronics, and systems teamsContribute to system performance, reliability, and long-term maintainabilitySupport integration and testing on real embedded targetsRequired Experience & Skills:Strong experience with C in a low-level or embedded contextSolid background in Embedded LinuxHands-on experience with:BootloadersLinux Kernel (configuration, patching, debugging)Cross-compilation toolchainsComfortable working close to hardware, including memory, interrupts, and peripheralsExperience debugging using tools such as GDB, JTAG, logic analyzers, and oscilloscopesUnderstanding of embedded system constraints such as real-time behavior, performance, and memory limitationsNice to Have:Experience in the transport, automotive, rail, or mobility sectorsFamiliarity with Yocto or BuildrootKnowledge of real-time Linux or RTOS conceptsExperience with CAN, Ethernet, SPI, I²C, UARTExposure to safety-critical or regulated environments such as ISO 26262 or EN standardsWhat’s on Offer:Work on real-world transport systems with tangible impactTechnically challenging low-level engineering problemsCollaborative engineering culture with strong hardware and software integrationCompetitive salary and benefitsHybrid or flexible working options, role dependentPlease apply directly below or contact me on the following details if you would like more
