Emergency Department Rn Apply
Key Responsibilities
- Perform rapid patient assessments and triage based on severity of illness or injury
- Monitor vital signs and recognize life-threatening conditions
- Administer medications, IV fluids, and emergency treatments
- Assist with emergency procedures such as intubation, resuscitation, and wound care
- Provide trauma care and stabilize critically ill patients
- Operate and monitor emergency medical equipment
- Coordinate patient care with physicians, paramedics, and other healthcare professionals
- Educate patients and families about treatment plans and discharge instructions
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient care and interventions
Common Cases Managed
Emergency Department RNs care for patients with:
- Trauma and accident injuries
- Cardiac emergencies (heart attacks, arrhythmias)
- Respiratory distress
- Stroke symptoms
- Severe infections
- Poisoning or overdose
