Emergency Dispatcher / Detention Officer Buffalo County is seeking applicants for the Emergency Dispatcher / Detention Officer position. We recently increased the starting pay of this position to $26.49 per hour and increased the night shift differential to $2.00 per hour. This means that night shift will earn $28.49 per hour! Specific genders of Communications and Corrections Officer are preferred as a bona fide occupational qualification in compliance with Section 302.41 of the Wisconsin Statutes. Summary of Duties Receives emergent and non-emergent calls Dispatches police, fire, and medical services Supervises inmates Enforces rules and regulations within the jail Must be Jail Officer certified through WI Law Enforcement Standards Board or have the ability to become certified within one year from starting the position 176 hours of Paid Time Off in the first year 11 Paid Holidays Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance Supplemental Insurances Flex Spending and Health Savings Accounts 12 hours shifts with a 2/2/3 schedule where the employee works two days, has two days off, works three days, and has two days off every two week period. This position will be working the night shift with primary hours of 5PM to 5AM. Pay The hourly range for this position is $26.49 to $31.44. Those without direct experience start at $26.49 per hour.
