JOB DESCRIPTION:

Cleveland-Cliffs Steel has an immediate opportunity for an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) at our Harrisburg, PA operation. As an EMT, you can expect to see your work everywhere; the employees you work with every day help to make the steel that is used in building nations. EMTs will typically be required to work 40 hours/week in a physically demanding heavy industrial environment on a rotating shift basis including holidays and weekends. Safety and quality are always the first priorities in Cleveland-Cliffs.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Required to drive and operate fire engines, ambulances, and other mobile equipment.
  • Required to service and inspect fire equipment, including repairs, painting, recharging, etc.
  • Required to administer EMT-level medical care to injured or ill personnel, fight fires, and perform confined space rescues.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be able to follow company safety and other procedures.
  • High school diploma required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of field experience in Emergency Services, which includes a minimum of 30 emergency medical response calls as an Ambulance Crew Chief (15 emergency trauma calls and 15 emergency medical calls)
  • Must have a thorough knowledge of the modern skills involved in providing emergency care and use of necessary equipment.
  • Must pass EMT test.
  • Must have the ability to react quickly and calmly in emergencies and to communicate effectively in stressful situations.
  • Fire Fighter I Certification.
  • PA Dept of Health EMT B License.
  • Hazmat Operations Certificate.
  • Confined Space Rescue Technician Certificate.
  • Emergency Vehicle Operations Course Certificate.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a heavy industrial environment is a plus.
