Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner – Brighton, MA Boston Medical Center - Brighton (BMC-Brighton) is a 267‑bed academic community teaching hospital affiliated with Tufts Medical School. We are seeking a per‑diem Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our emergency team.
About the Department State‑of‑the‑art Emergency Department with 27 Private Treatment Rooms, 5 Express beds, and a dedicated 256‑slice CT Scanner.
Designated Stroke Center.
Fully integrated EMR, order entry and patient tracking.
Rapid triage and evaluation program with exceptional turnaround times.
Excellent patient satisfaction.
Responsibilities Obtain comprehensive patient histories and perform thorough physical examinations.
Manage patients with varying acuity, from minor injuries to life‑threatening conditions.
Execute bedside diagnostic and therapeutic procedures with precision.
Coordinate and facilitate diagnostic tests and specialist consultations.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and communicate with referring and consulting physicians.
Advocate for patients’ needs and provide compassionate support throughout care.
Educate patients and families about treatment options and discharge instructions.
Engage in ongoing professional development and incorporate best practices.
Provide leadership and mentorship to junior staff and trainees.
Participate in community health initiatives and outreach programs.
Qualifications Minimum of 1 year experience in Emergency Medicine or Urgent Care.
Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies and national certification of Physician Assistants, or a master’s degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
Current Massachusetts license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant preferred.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with emergency physicians and residents.
