Job Title: Register Nurse ER/ED Location: Rosebud, SD Shift Schedule: Day Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM Mid Shift: 11:00 AM - 11:00 PM Night Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM Qualification: Education: highest degree attained in Nursing Certifications: Any state RN license is acceptable Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC - Must have Experience: Registered Nurse must have at least two (2) years or more experience in Emergency Department Job Responsibilities Triage and Initial Assessment Quickly assess patients upon arrival to determine the severity of their condition. Prioritize care based on acuity using standardized triage systems (e.g., ESI – Emergency Severity Index). Deliver prompt, accurate care in high-stress, time-sensitive situations. Perform initial and ongoing assessments of vital signs and physical conditions. Administer medications, IV fluids, and emergency interventions (e.g., CPR, defibrillation). Collaboration with Healthcare Team Work closely with ED physicians, specialists, and support staff. Communicate patient status, changes, and treatment responses effectively. Assist with procedures like intubations, central line insertions, or wound care. Documentation and Charting Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the EHR. Maintain accurate and timely patient records, often under pressure. Explain procedures, medications, and follow-up care to patients and families. Coordinate with case managers or social workers for discharge or transfer. Crisis and Trauma Management Respond to codes (e.g., Code Blue, trauma alerts). Care for critically ill or injured patients (e.g., cardiac arrest, strokes, gunshot wounds). Infection Control and Safety Follow strict infection control protocols. Ensure safety measures for patients, staff, and themselves. Mental Health Support Assess and manage patients experiencing mental health crises. Use de-escalation techniques and involve psychiatric resources when necessary.
