### Job Title: Emergency Room Physician
#### Key Responsibilities:
1. **Patient Assessment:**
- Evaluate patients' conditions through physical examinations and diagnostic tests.
- Obtain patient history and assess vital signs to determine the urgency of care.
2. **Diagnosis and Treatment:**
- Diagnose a wide range of medical conditions and injuries.
- Administer emergency treatments, including resuscitation, wound care, and fracture management.
3. **Collaboration:**
- Work closely with nurses, specialists, and other medical staff to provide comprehensive care.
- Refer patients to appropriate specialists for further treatment as needed.
4. **Patient Management:**
- Develop and implement treatment plans based on patient evaluations.
- Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans accordingly.
5. **Documentation:**
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for all patients.
- Document all procedures, treatments, and patient interactions thoroughly.
6. **Emergency Procedures:**
- Perform emergency procedures such as intubation, suturing, and lumbar punctures.
- Ensure that the emergency room is equipped and prepared for all potential medical emergencies.
7. **Education:**
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding treatment plans and follow-up care.
- Stay updated on current medical practices and developments in emergency medicine.
#### Qualifications:
- **Education:** Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
- **Residency:** Completed a residency in Emergency Medicine.
- **Board Certification:** Board certification in Emergency Medicine is preferred but not required.
- **Licensing:** Valid medical license to practice in the state of Texas.
#### Skills:
- Strong clinical and diagnostic skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and make quick decisions.
- Proficiency in using medical equipment and technology.
#### Working Conditions:
- Work in a Freestanding Emergency Room, often with irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- May be required to stand for extended periods and handle physically demanding tasks.
