Emergency Room RN - MUST HAVE 2 YEARS OF RECENT EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT EXPERIENCE Description of Position: Provides direct and indirect patient care in theemergency care setting. Provides carethat reflects initiative, flexibility and responsibility indicative of professionalexpectation with a minimum of supervision. Is able to triage safely, rapidly and accurately, on physical andpsychosocial needs, as well as factors influencing patient flow through thesystem. Communicates with ER Physiciansand/or Mid-level providers about changes in patient status, symptomology andresults of diagnostic studies. Is ableto respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response totreatment. Works cooperatively with: Patients, families, physicians and mid-levelproviders, allied health staff and healthcare professionals. Givesdirection to: Emergency Departmenttechs, registration staff and allied health staff. Receives directionfrom: Emergency Department Director,Physicians and Mid-level providers and Chief Nursing Officer.
