Overview Job Title: ER Tech (Emergency Room Technician) Start Date: ASAP Duration: 13 Weeks Contract Possible extension Shift: Mid Shift – 6x8 Hours (3:00 PM – 11:30 PM) Job Overview We are seeking an experienced ER Tech (Emergency Room Technician) to support clinical staff in a fast-paced emergency department. The candidate will assist with patient care, emergency procedures, and clinical tasks while ensuring high standards of patient safety and care. Responsibilities Assist nurses and physicians with emergency patient care and procedures . Obtain and document vital signs for adult and pediatric patients . Perform 12-lead EKG/ECG testing . Assist with phlebotomy and specimen collection , labeling, and transportation. Support patient care activities including ambulation, feeding, and basic care needs . Assist during clinical procedures such as sutures, splinting, reductions, and intubations. Manage behavioral emergencies and application of restraints when required . Provide post-mortem care when necessary . Ensure proper infection control practices including PPE and isolation precautions . Report changes in patient condition promptly to the clinical team. Assist with patient transport and mobility support using appropriate equipment. Required Qualifications Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department Tech (EDT) experience . Experience working in an Emergency Department setting . BLS Certification required . EMT certification required . Experience with Epic charting system . Knowledge of abnormal and normal vital sign parameters for adult and pediatric patients . Preferred Qualifications Experience in a community hospital setting . Experience in Trauma Level II facilities . Skills & Equipment Glucometer usage Infection control and PPE protocols Application of restraints Patient mobility and assistance Phlebotomy and specimen handling Emergency procedure assistance Patient Population Neonates Infants Children Adolescents Adults Geriatric patients Work Environment Emergency Department setting supporting a wide range of cases including trauma, acute illness, and general medical emergencies .
