What we are looking for:
Firematic is currently seeking a full-time technician to install electrical wiring, electrical components and systems on new fire trucks and police vehicles.
What you'll be doing:
- Utilize your knowledge and experience in determining the best layout for wiring systems on OEM installed custom bodies. Maintaining the utmost quality in all work performed is essential as the vehicles manufactured are critical to the emergency services sector.
- Install both customer supplied and new two way radio and intercom systems.
- Occasionally install various 110 or 220 volt AC generators, circuit breakers and boxes and various AC components. All industry standards must be adhered to.
- Advise operators and line mechanics of operation procedures and requirements for working safely with electrical/electronic and mechanical equipment/components.
- Troubleshoot and repair vehicle electrical warranty issues.
Requirements
- Positive can-do attitude a must!
- 5+ years of proven experience in electrical/electronics and the ability to demonstrate high proficiency in these areas.
- Strong knowledge of 12 volt electrical system
- Problem solving skills
- Experience and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with high quality performance.
- A thorough knowledge of electrical/electronic components and equipment including the use of special instruments for diagnostic purposes.
- Two way radio installation and repair experience is a plus.
- Any EVT ratings are a plus and salary will be adjusted accordingly.
- Two year technical degree or accredited apprenticeship program or the equivalent in a technical field.
Hours are Monday - Friday 6:30-3:00
$27-38/hr DOE
