Employment Specialist/Job Coach
EmployAbility Services is the Employment Services Division of Responding to Autism Services. We are committed to helping individuals of ALL abilities to find and maintain meaningful employment.

Position Overview
In this position you are responsible for supporting individuals with disabilities to achieve and maintain employment in the community.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist job seekers in obtaining and maintaining community-based employment opportunities using customized employment strategies and evidence-based practices.
  • Create individualized resumes, assist in completing job applications, and prepare the client for the interviewing process.
  • Provide job coaching in accordance with program requirements and participant's interests, strengths, and needs including but not limited to: accountability, positive reinforcement, social skills, and guidance.
  • Providing on-the-job coaching and individualized supports with clients on their job-site.
  • Meet with local business in the community in order to develop professional relationships that will lead to customized, long-term, suitable employment for our clients.
  • Develop and follow employment plans and contractual obligations including all related regulations and funding sources.
  • Write plans/reports in a clear, concise, professional manner while consistently meeting deadlines; maintaining and updating client files/reports on a continual basis.
  • Keep accurate documentation of services delivered, time worked, and mileage/ expenses incurred, along with data and case notes to adequately show individual's progress toward goals on employment/ service plan.
  • Connect positively with community agencies and employers serving as liaison for participant to ensure appropriate job matches and to promote the agency and its mission.
  • Follow and maintain strict company policies related to client information.

Essential Skills Needed:

  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Quick learning and situational appraisal skills
  • Basic computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Willing to take direction, instruction, and correction
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrate professional maturity and appearance
  • Resilient, punctual, reliable, and positive

Competencies Needed:

  • Experience teaching skills and/or coaching to individuals with disabilities
  • Consultative sales skills and/or experience
  • Previous experience with maintaining a case load of clients
  • Technical, report writing, and/or case note writing experience
  • Highly effective time-management skills
  • The ability to work collaboratively in a learning environment
  • A high level of self-accountability, self-motivated
  • Creative thinker and problem-solver
  • Emotional intelligence, empathy for under-served communities
  • Willing to make mistakes, learn new things, and demonstrate what you've learned

Required Qualifications:

  • Professional ability related to report writing.

  • Must have the ability to satisfy a background check and comply with the company's drug-free workplace policy.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
