Seeking a part time IT Generalist to work onsite (8 hours per week) at their Detroit location. The specific day/days are flexible, though midweek is preferred. Preferred working hours are 7am-3pm or 8am-4pm. This location includes 16 onsite staff within a chemical plant environment, supported by a consistent office team and plant manager. Total user count across Detroit and Columbus is approximately 100. Responsibilities End‑user support for Detroit on site and Columbus remotely. Logging into and maintaining tickets within the ManageEngine helpdesk system used by Columbus. Maintaining and tracking the Detroit IT equipment inventory. Hardware replacements (computers, switches, etc.). Most equipment arrives preconfigured from Columbus, so tasks focus on physical installs/swap outs. Replacing and labeling network cabling. Providing "eyes and hands" for IT issues requiring physical presence. Updating tickets and maintaining accuracy in helpdesk and monitoring systems. Installing desktop applications and software. Performing monthly patching of desktop systems. Some exposure to OT (Operational Technology) environments; however, automation systems (e.g., Rockwell) are generally not part of this role. Supporting the scheduled replacement of all Detroit switches this year. Required Skills Windows 11 Office 365 Ticketing system Technical support Customer service Automation systems Additional Skills & Qualifications ManageEngine Desktop Central ManageEngine ServiceDesk Plus Sophos Central WatchGuard After Hours Availability A candidate who can occasionally take after‑hours emergency calls is highly preferred. This would only apply in rare cases when onsite support is immediately required and remote assistance cannot resolve the issue. Only one such emergency occurred in the past six months. Experience Level Entry Level. Job Type & Location Contract position based out of Hamtramck, MI. Fully onsite position. Pay & Benefits Pay range: $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
