We are expanding our team to include a passionate Energy Efficiency Engineer who will help drive sustainable and cost-effective energy solutions for our clients.


Position Summary

The Energy Efficiency Engineer will be responsible for identifying, analyzing, and implementing energy-saving measures within client facilities and P B Hoidale operations. This role combines technical expertise, project management, and client engagement to deliver measurable energy performance improvements.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical or electrical engineering, a deep understanding of energy systems, and the ability to translate data-driven insights into practical, sustainable solutions.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct energy audits and assessments to identify efficiency opportunities in industrial and commercial facilities.

  • Analyze utility data and building system performance to recommend energy conservation measures (ECMs).

  • Develop and model energy-saving projects including HVAC optimization, lighting upgrades, compressed air systems, and renewable integration.

  • Prepare technical reports, cost-benefit analyses, and savings projections.

  • Collaborate with design, operations, and construction teams to ensure project feasibility and integration.

  • Support clients in achieving energy compliance, sustainability certifications, and incentive programs (e.g., ENERGY STAR®, LEED®, utility rebates).

  • Monitor post-installation performance and verify savings.

  • Stay current on emerging energy technologies, codes, and industry standards.


Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Energy Engineering (or related field).

  • 3+ years of experience in energy efficiency, building systems, or industrial process optimization.

  • Proficiency in energy modeling software (e.g., eQUEST, EnergyPlus) and data analysis tools.

  • Knowledge of ASHRAE standards, building automation systems, and MEP systems.

  • Strong analytical, communication, and report-writing skills.

Preferred:

  • Certified Energy Manager (CEM), EIT/PE, or LEED accreditation.

  • Experience with utility incentive programs and measurement & verification (M&V).

  • Familiarity with renewable energy systems (solar PV, geothermal, etc.).
