The Energy Technician is responsible for working with Gas and Electric Service; e.g., turn‑on and shut‑off services, meter work, gas and electrical emergencies. Energy Technicians are considered essential personnel and are required to respond to emergencies and work under all types of weather conditions. Major Accountabilities Gas odor response Mechanical pipe fitting on customer meter sets Repair single secondary outages on the PECO Electric distribution system Troubleshoot and repair customer electrical issues including voltage irregularities; and gas and electric emergencies Position Requirements Must be able to successfully complete required EEI testing Valid driver’s license and ability to receive and maintain CDL medical certificate High school diploma or equivalent Must be able to lift 85 pounds Ability to respond to emergency call‑out as essential personnel and to work shifts Ability to work in stressful environments involving gas or electric emergencies Ability to interact with customers on a one‑on‑one basis and portray PECO as the energy supplier of choice Willing to report to any location throughout the PECO territory (Bucks, Montgomery, Delaware, Chester, and Philadelphia) Must be within the manufacturer's safe weight guidelines for equipment Excellent written and oral communication skills Independent ability to mechanically troubleshoot issues Comfortable working at heights Ability to work 24×7 shifts during storms or other energy delivery emergencies Preferred Experience Previous electric and/or gas work Mechanical experience with hand tools Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning (HVAC) experience Mechanical iron pipe fitting experience Start Date September 3rd, 2024.
