Job Summary The Engagement Manager serves as a key leader within the Consumer Engagement Center, supporting two core operational wings: Appointment Scheduling & Provider Template Design and Financial Clearance. This role acts as a bridge between front‑end revenue cycle operations and clinical departments, identifying opportunities for workflow optimization, supporting standardization, and driving improvements in patient access and financial performance. The Engagement Manager will serve as the primary liaison for clinical partners, ensuring alignment between clinical operations and Consumer Engagement Center objectives.
Responsibilities Manage the revenue cycle for several clinical departments, identifying revenue opportunities across Registration, Charge Capture/Reconciliation, Charge Edits, Denials Management, and Write‑offs.
Lead project management and solution implementation for identified revenue opportunities.
Prepare and deliver monthly presentations to clinical department chairs, administrators, and finance directors on key performance indicators, including performance to budget, A/R Days/Aging, Charge Lag, Unsigned Encounters, and Denial rates.
Ensure timely completion of presentation deliverables and communicate driving factors behind each metric.
Document and complete meeting follow‑up items.
Create, run, and analyze A/R reports to identify commercial and government denial trends; report findings to drive process improvement within claims follow‑up teams.
Communicate A/R issues and project plans supported by data.
Work with clinical departments and the Professional Services Analytics team to develop accurate revenue budgets and quantify budget impact of new programs or clinical hires.
Report on driving factors of variances to budget throughout the year to FPG leadership.
Create accurate revenue forecasts for upcoming years, using historical payment performance and volume targets.
Collaborate with business development and strategic planning teams to develop revenue projections for proposed expansion sites and innovative clinical services.
Prepare financial models to predict incremental revenue additions.
Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders within clinical departments and FPG leadership.
Use data analysis to produce accurate revenue forecasts.
Monitor, analyze, and present key provider productivity metrics, comparing to internal and external benchmarks.
Explain variances in reported cFTEs and develop tailored supplemental metrics for provider productivity performance.
Create relevant ad‑hoc reports based on provider specialty/department (e.g., number of surgeries completed, shift in new versus established patients).
Monitor, analyze, and present key patient access metrics; report on no‑show and cancellation rates and appointment availability for each specialty or doctor.
Recommend provider template setups to improve patient access.
Respond to patient complaints and analyze billing inquiry trends; implement operational changes to prevent recurring issues.
Escalate issues to clinical and professional services leadership as appropriate.
Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s preferred.
5+ years of experience within Project Management, Capacity Management, Access Templates, or as a Senior Analyst.
Knowledge of the health care industry.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint.
Experience with EPIC preferred.
Experience in front‑end revenue cycle functions (scheduling, prior authorizations, patient access, or financial counseling) preferred.
Previous experience working with or supporting clinical departments strongly preferred.
Strong understanding of patient access operations preferred.
Ability to analyze complex workflows and data to drive actionable insights preferred.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence across roles and departments preferred.
